Why is solo gamedev so bullshit? I've mastered coding and drawing but I've realized that the game has to have music too but I don't want to learn that.
Why is solo gamedev so bullshit...
Just rip off touhou songs like all the other popular indieshit games
R O Y A L T Y
F R E E
lol music is ez bro just go doo doo doo bum
Then don't have music, a lot of people use their own music anyway. Or use licensed (or ripped off) music, there even are games that are actually noted for good music despite having no original tracks (Civ IV springs to mind, with the obvious exception of the main theme).
Hell, nowadays you could try your hand at algorithmically generated music. With some vetting, it can be really quite good and even fitting.
there is a AI that makes music, just us that and claim originality
let's all love lain
if you have to use AI to make something then your inherently talentless
>if you don't have all the talents you have none of the talents
Just shut up, please.
psx Lain makes me so sad bros... the anime ending was already sad enough but man I did not need to see her go through a literal mental breakdown and cap herselr
You only need to mess around with samples until you get a decent enough beat and then loop bro.
music is more important than drawing, you made the wrong choices
solo game devs are literally today's renaissance men in the sense that you have to master LITERALLY EVERYTHING in order to put out a quality product
Post your latest vidya drawing
he's right lmao, if you have to rely on something like that to make music then yea you don't have the talent for it
>be decent at music
>the range of what I can write isn't enough for my game anyway
lol, lmao even
better to have a few good games then a mass of garbage games
Not having a talent for music != talentless. Music is not the only talent one can have.
What sort of game are you doing/what kind of music do you need? I make music and if your game sounds good/you like my music maybe we could work together.
Just make a game with your friends. I really liked learning the artistic side and when I realised I need music and sound direction it was fun as fuck to discover all this new theory and technique to employ, instead of using non-copyrighted shit I preferred to make my own stuff from the ground up. My favourite thing about gamedev is how many different areas you get to work in. I hate programming though, so my friend does most of that, while we talk about systems and things together.
Luckily for me my game has a very specific atmosphere that benefits from NOT having music
>the game has to have music too
uhh not really
and you can just make ambient like music with samples thats pretty easy if it fits the game
Good luck bro. You could always commision a soundtrack once the game is done?
