Do Japanese games suck?
Do Japanese games suck?
Where is he again today? Too busy choking on it?
This dude is 100% a child predator
who the fuck
also no
no
No. If anyone else thinks that they deserve to be chased out of the gaming industry just like Phil Fish was.
Yes. JP games are almost always shit and follow the worst tropes imaginable. The most important games ever made are all western releases. DOOM, Quake, Half Life, deus ex and so many more are western made. JP WISHES it had a release list as great as the west
The very insanely tiny amount of goodwill I had towards this man is gone now.
Yes your post button does work here is your (You)
Yes they do
Yes, japanese games made after the 90s has been pretty much garbage. The older IPs from Nintendo still manage to get a passable game from time to time but even them are becoming mediocre.
I wonder who made Mario, Sonic, Zelda, Final Fantasy, Pokemon, Resident Evil, etc etc. Can't be the Japanese, right?
He said this around the time Skyward Sword came out and Fi wouldn't let you pick your nose without her consent.
Thank god for Dark Souls' popularity, it changed everything.
Which showed how out of touch this retard was.
>Japanese games are this one game
>You gotta get one with the times, western games are so much less handholdy
It wasn't just Skyward Sword though, the massive success of the Wii and its focus on casual players lead to several years of mind-numbingly easy and uninteresting games. Remember how Sony and Microsoft were trying to have a piece of the same cake with Move and Kinect? His claim was still factually wrong as we saw the release of games like Bayonetta and Demon's Souls in 2009, Dark Souls in 2011, Dragon's Dogma in 2012 and many many others, but I can see where it was coming from considering what Nintendo and all the other parties jumping on the Wii bandwagon brought to the table.
>Thank god for Dark Souls' popularity, it changed everything.
People can say whatever they want about Souls games now, but i'm grateful that the game existed and blew up like it did. It's not like its the most difficult game ever or the best there is, but the games' popularity was like a spell being cast on developers that you don't have to handhold players on every single fucking thing.
NOOOOO, how can you criticize something with such confidence??! You're just a small indie dev who contributed very little to the industry!
It's another matter if you're a Any Forumstard who contributed NOTHING to the industry, in this case why yes you can shit on anything of course!
>Dark Souls
A vastly inferior Blade of Darkness ripoff and also western culture appropriation.
Both sides have good and bad games so i don't really know how he could have even thought of that.
Also did anyone actually found all secrets of FEZ already?
Probably still seething over the time he got busted samefagging
That's a surface level analysis, even the Wii had stuff like Sin & Punishment, Punch Out, Pandora's Tower, Xenoblade, Trauma Center, Muramasa... I could go on and on, but I see no hand holding in those games, and half of it was from Nintendo.
We're also talking about a generation where Shmups were still releasing on 360, Dark Souls's popularity began, and indie japanese devs were making games that pushed the boundaries of difficulty in gaming.
On the other hand, western gaming was at the peak of casual gaming with every big company having a division for that, regenerating health and intrusive tutorials.
His opinion isn't just factually wrong, it's also completely disconnected from reality. In what world japanese games were the ones with handholding but western games weren't?
