These are objectively the most important/historically significant video games of their respective decade. You can debate it, but you'd be wrong. By this metric, Nintendo is the worlds greatest video game company, despite how very shit they are in so many ways. Discuss.

i like kirby

RE4 is big time important but I’m not sure I’d call it bigger than whatever GTA you want to count as most important (3 from a design standpoint, SA from a commercial one, which of course dictates the direction of the industry)

>historically significant
>greatest
poor word choice
calling nintendo the most important / historically significant would be reasonable imo

RE4 caused a massive industry shift my man

I don’t deny it, but so did GTA, and arguably a greater one; I don’t even play GTA but this is pretty damn apparent.

I like the extra touch of you using a romhack of SM64 instead of the actual game. Very well put together.

That's not even an actual screenshot of Mario 64. And there's no Ocarina of Time in this picture which was about exactly as influential as RE4.

add GTA3 and OoT for more credibility and no loss to your shitpost point

Minecraft is more influential than Skyrim

replace re4 with halo or gta3

>mario 64 over doom or quake
nah m8

why is a mario 64 romhack that historically significant?

Replace Mario 64 with Chrono Trigger and Skyrim with New Vegas.

>Resident Evil 4
>Not Smash Bros. Melee
>Not Halo

What

I agree about Super Mario 54 its still the best platformer in the world but RE4? Really nigga

Which one?

sm64 is the most popular speedrunning game in the history of forever

replace RE4 with halo, otherwise list is good

>sackhead chainsaw man attacks Leon in a European village where they speak Mexican Spanish
Ay carumba.

that picture isnt from mario 64, that level in the background doesnt exist and his red colors are too bright, i think its from star road rom hack but not sure

Star road and Skyrim came out in the same decade..?? And the 90's aren't represented?? How confusing

>no minecraft
lolno Skyrim may be big, but what effect did it have? It's just dumbed down oblivion, which was dumbed down morrwind. Minecraft on the other hand pushed out the most popular genre (survivalcraft) for over half a decade. Hell, even Demon Souls would be a more accurate pick. I've heard the term "souls like" so often, that it has lost it's meaning.
