I don't know why people think this. The vast majority of the Garou cast are literal whos. The reason why anyone likes the game is because of the gameplay. You can just have a Fatal Fury game that plays more like Garou but with a roster of characters that people actually know for the most part.

I don't even understand how Metal Slug game would work now. The old games were made specifically for arcade play which is why you die every 15 seconds just so you can add more quarters in the machine. That type of artificial difficulty doesn't make sense for consoles nowadays. Plus the games were short as shit and had some of the greatest sprite work in vidya history. Why would you want to ruin that with a new game that would inevitably be 3D.

Most of the characters are literally KOF regulars that everyone knows. Even if they don't know some of them, that applies to most fighting games in general but the ones people do know are far more known than even the most popular characters in Garou. I mean outside of Rock, Tizoc and whatsherface, they are among the obscure characters in fighting games. Just relatives and students of other characters. Why throwaway everything built up for one game that some people played 20 years ago instead expanding upon the games they established for a decade prior to that.

financially, it would be smarter to do another Fatal Fury and capitalize on the familiarity of those games but twitterfags and Maxfags would probably prefer a new Garou even though that's probably the only game in the series they have played

It's probably a safer bet to just add Buriki One characters to other games. Also they should focus on porting the game so people can actually play it for once before planning a new one.

I think people want a new Garou because there's more you can do with that cast and the storyline ending on a cliffhanger.
I just prefer Fatal Fury more, but wouldn't be upset with a new Garou either.
