Literally no one thought the graphics would be that much better, what everyone wanted was performance increases. I have a stable 60fps now compared to around 10fps before and it's like playing two entirely different games, since now I actually like to engage with the combat, go around town to talk to people, and farming isn't a chore
Start with 4, it's still regarded as the best. 3 is great if you don't mind old games since it's on the DS. 5 isn't bad (on pc), there is actually a somewhat fun game here, but 4 is one of my personal favourites of all time. Xseed is kind of cancerous so if you don't want to buy it then that's fine too.

Feel like I'd rather have the achievements for 100% shipment and upgrading all the buildings/monster barns like in RF4S
The fact you need to marry EVERYBODY to get 100% achievements is a different type of tedious and also demands that the player be gay or make a second file and be gay anyway by playing the opposite sex and marrying their own

3 and 4 play almost the same with just very minor qol added in 4. Main difference is 3 has a better town, while 4 has a LOT more rpg content. 3 is super short.

Yeah it feels a bit weird that that would ever be considered. RF games never felt like romance was a collectible thing but rather just a one time thing with a girl that you put all your time and effort into.
I think encouraging people to go with other romances just for the sake of completionism goes against the comfy farm life sim that the series tries to capture
The switch runs it at like 10, that's why people were looking forward to it, no one is impressed by the graphics. If you're done being a faggot you can stay and ask about the game or go somewhere else

I had a lot of fun grinding for 100% shipment rate among other things in RF4S to get all the achievements, but I almost don't want to bother with RF5's at all. The fact confessions get a lower and lower chance of succeeding the more boyfriends/girlfriends you have is also a deterrent, and I imagine it requires tons of savescumming near the end if you're going to have all 12 on one save file.
