ROGUE SQUADRON... WHERE'S OUR COVER?!
ROGUE SQUADRON... WHERE'S OUR COVER?!
One of the best games ever made honestly. Barely playable these days because of the dodgy chase camera. But I remember it all.
Remember being so sad because I love the Y-Wing and its in like two missions. Then I was so excited for the liberation of Gerrad V because I thought it would be a Y-Wing mission, then it was just an escort.
I remember Imperial Construction Yards gave me so much trouble at the time, Escape from Fest and Assault on Kile 2 as well.
Also wierdly when I was really young, Defection at Correlia gave me soooo much trouble. I must've sucked at the game as a young kid, but I've never had so much fun with a game before or since
I've been re-playing this and Battle For Naboo(made by the same dev team but set in the prequel era) recently and i'm amazed with how much interconnectivity there is to the old legends expanded universe material. Battle For Naboo in particular has direct connections to a few other prequel games that came out back then like Galactic Battlegrounds and Starfighter.
I like how Rogue Squardon clearly establishes Han Solo was born on Correlia and retards claim they made that up for the Solo movie.
didnt read lol
>Galactic Battlegrounds
Funny you mention that, it's going to be getting some EU stuff later this year, New Republic being one of the new civs. References to Rogue Squadron abound.
>he actually discusses the game in question
>you go off on an autistic tangent due to some underage beef with reddit
Many such cases.
Empire at War is better.
A-Wing fucks.
>accuses people of 'reddit spacing'
>isnt aware this was a tactic to spot redditors in the first place
type how you want dude its the internet.
Is the gamecube sequel any good? I recently played this one again and it's still pretty fun. Also I forgot how badly the N64 version runs.
Not with those ground battles.
EaW has SWGB beat when it comes to space though.
Modded Empire at War BTFO's SWGB. SWGB is still a fun game though.
I don't really see what people enjoy about Empire at War. I had fun with it but it was never this amazing game everyone seems to claim.
You may be right, I haven't kept up with the mods for it in ages.
There's something about the simplicity of SWGB that keeps me coming back I guess, and I like that scope-wise, it's pretty close to unrivaled. After this new update, you'll be able to have matches like Gungans & Wookiees vs First Order & Imperial Remnant vs Black Sun & Zann Consortium vs Republic & New Republic.
>Gungans & Wookiees vs First Order & Imperial Remnant vs Black Sun & Zann Consortium vs Republic & New Republic.
Minus the Disneyshit that does sound pretty neat
Fuck this level. Mostly because I was little and didn’t know how to use the hook lol. Based Wedge being the real MVP
I played this game to death as a kid. I loved playing rebels the most. I always felt artillery was kindof underpowered though.
I mean why would you buy an artillery unit when you can get the cannon from the fortress?
Yeah defection at Corellia was a bitch, first real difficulty spike. Took me forever to figure out the hook.
That sounds pretty cool, once i get my Deck i'm gonna try playing it again.
But, Modern modded empire at war is basically a different game.
There is 3(4 technically, i'll explain):
Thrawns Revenge (And Fall of the Republic, which is TR but set during the CW instead of post-Endor era)
Empire at War: Remake
Awakening of the Rebellion (this mod is the most different, it's ground combat is massively overhauled)
Also the people behind thrawns revenge are making an Old Republic focused mod, so there will be 5 soon.
Rogue Squadron 2 is in my top ten Gcn games. 3 is middling at best but has the entire campaign for 2 in co-op if that interests you
Artillery is for use vs other units, cannons are specifically anti-building. I used to have the same thought.
Does Thrawn's Revenge have any Dark Empire shit? Just curious - I still own EaW so I may give it a look tonight.
>Does Thrawn's Revenge have any Dark Empire shit?
It does, Thrawn's Revenge has this era system where after 60 in-game weeks(or if the current Imperial Leader dies) the era will advance and you'll get different units/heroes/etc. Era 3 is Dark Empire.
Artillery have splash damage, they're cheaper and IIRC they're available at an earlier tech level.
>look it up
>it even involves Crimson Empire
Thanks for the first step into a larger world, I'm getting this shit ASAP.
