When did it click for you?

When I realized that the game is casual garbage with 30-frames long deflect windows.

Alright, let's get a non-garbage response this time.

never
I just played it like a dark souls game all the way through

Genichiro

this is just bullshit.

genichiro in ashina castle

why

This, that's the moment the game tells you "you must learn to play sekiro or fuck yourself"

Had it explained long before I ever played it. Would be cool if there was a Sekiro pro mode where the timing on parries was more like the timing on Royalguard in DMC 3 (very tight). I would suck ass at it but I'd try the challenge out regardless.

Genichiro for sure.
I can now get through most of the non gimmick enemies with ease, game is infinitely more fun when you understand the core mechanics that Genichiro forces you to understand.
The ogre can fuck off though

Sekiro is not a game that *clicks*
On the contrary, you come to the realization that it's a really barebones simplistic game with Simon Says QTE combat
Feels like a tech demo for Elden Ring

when i got filtered at genichiro and then played dark souls and dark souls 3 for the first time and i played sekiro again from the start and went through the game without problems

my favorite fromsoft game. beaten 4 times and almost 100% but im too lazy for collecting garbage, like to play it from time to time and duel owl or isshin

When I went to sleep and played the next day

It's called a charmless bell run you poser.

>half a second
wow, so forgiving

>just played it like a dark souls game all the way through
I made this exact same mistake on my first playthrough. user, I strongly urge you to play through it again the way it was meant to be played. It became my favorite action game of all time when I did.

Never, didn't beat the final boss.

ironic since miyazaki made it a point to say that he lamented the fact that lessons learned from sekiro couldn't be implemented into elden ring since they were developed simultaneously

I actually did that, but I still feel it only makes it less forgiving as opposed to harder by virtue of requiring tighter timing

It didn't really. I killed Lady Butterfly and Blazing Bull and lost interest on the way to Genichiro. It's a good game but perhaps not for me. For reference I love all 4 Souls game and I think ER is awful
