i'm always dumbfounded when people go "oh my god i loved stardew valley are there more games like this?" and still refuse to even touch any of natsume's hundred or so farming games

Why are boomers so autistic about shitty old games? New games are much comfortable to play.

Dishonored is a poor man’s thief
Bioshock is a shit fps & even worse immersive sim mogged by Deus Ex & the System Shock games

best cinematic platformer: Abe's Oddysee
best CRPG: Planescape
best third-person shooter: RE4
zoomers don't really play either of the first two genres though, but on the flipside, some modern games are objectively best in their genre, for example:
best 2D platformer: DKC Tropical Freeze
best metroidvania: Hollow Knight

Regardless of how much of a weird schizophrenic meltdown it causes people, the persona games peaked with 1 & 2 specifically because they weren’t braindead coomer shit & had actual character engagement and proper structured pacing that flowed with the narratives rather than poorly designed sakura wars clones trying way too hard to be a harem anime.

>Those last two awful games
Such horrible bait, kys tranny

>doesn't list games

name a better 2D platformer and metroidvania
the contenders for platformers would be Yoshi's Island, Rayman Origins or Wario Land 4
for metroidvania, SotN or Zero Mission maybe, would say Super but it hasn't aged as well as people would like to pretend

Nu-Capcom fighters.

Dead Space faggots always shit up survival horror threads.

You can't have a Silent Hill or RE discussion without these niggers barging in.

It drives me fucking nuts when zoomers and journos call every sim a "Stardew Valley" clone or say it mixes elements of Stardew Valley.
It was a good game, but literally only because it copied a better game.

Everytime I think about people wanting to call post Dreamcast games retro I think back to that joke in Futurama where Fry was listening to 90s rap and Leela said to "stop listening to classical music"

It was a joke then and I wish it would be a joke for games as well.

Not him, but those aren't great picks
For platformers, I'd probably pick Dustforce or Celeste
For metroidvania, I'd have to go with Rabi Ribi

Stop being insecure about your hobbies

>Rabi Ribi
stopped reading there, awful

Zoom 2016

retro in 1990's was basically arcade and anything released before the super nintendo. that was a period of less than 7 years. Welcome to being old boomer.

wtf? so you're telling me 2003-2005 games are retro now? as a zoomer this makes me very pleased as these were the games I grew up with

>Celeste

You have never played a single Persona game.

Star Wars Battlefront 2
