Human, always. I love the idea of humans in some entirely foreign world where maybe they're not even the dominant species, but they're still getting shit done and coming out on top through their tenacity, resilience, and adaptability. Honestly I think people who play special snowflake races with horns, tails, wings, etc are at least somewhat homosexual and they should probably be playing some MMO where the point is to be flashy and attract attention to your character.
