I don't like Press Garden Act 1's OST. I feel like it needs a bit more "you're in a newspaper printing factory" feel to it.

I've seen threads where people say the original levels are overly long clusterfucks and that it just rehashes Genesis levels for the rest. I don't really agree with this take, but I've seen it multiple times.

Any Forums seems to enjoy it. I, however, feel like it represents the Arin Hanjobian and the Reddit crew's revisionist history on the origins and strengths of Sonic. Most notably, the Westside notion of Sonic being a family friendly Mario clone who's gimmick is only going fast is a great lie. Sonic is actually the allophysical manifestation of the Platonic Sigma Male, who goes his own way and which brings about the Jesus rebellion alliance on the four corner axiomatic compound grid. His games are in many respect, vanguard, trying new things his adversaries wouldn't dare, with Sonic 06 being one of the most misunderstood yet kino experiments of all time. Sonic Mania represents the opposite of this, it represents complacency, a retreading of old, very much beta male energy and CalArts animation which makes the experience to a sigma male like me alienating and insulting.

Studiopolis Act 2 did the best job at giving that breaking news broadcast feel. The beginning is amazing.

I hope if they ever make a new Sega racing game Press Garden makes it in as a track. Imagine racing through with Kiryu and suddenly a newspaper with "Goro Majima destroys local business in Kamurocho!" flies by. It'd be an easter egg wonderland. But yeah, probably with the Studiopolis songs.

Guy with 400 IQ here. I'm smarter, stronger and better looking than all fo you. Here's my take. It's a shitty, mediocre rom hack that's overrated to death by classic fags. I have it on my switch, I've 100% it. It's nothing special, yet fags will claim "it's the best sonic" when it's not even close.

I think its in a weird position where its good, its a good platformer, but the fact that it was followed up by Sonic Team fucking it up royally with Forces has elevated it to an unreasonable status.
People complained about modern Sonic sucking for a long time. Suddenly there's a good game in the series that utilizes classic gameplay. Now the jap team that fucked things up a trillion times fucks up again with a modern game. It all plays into the narrative too well.
