There are no good games because people have become too passive and apathetic

Back then the gaming world was more dynamic and expansive. People were actually doing things through trial and error and were more prone to experimentation instead of watching someone passively. Gamedev teams were more consisting of scientists and artists than "gamers" who had to read a lot, take inspiration from obscure media, travel a lot, take a lot of photos, write music, record sounds, draw schemes & animations, hire history experts which is the essense of soul when it comes to making video games. But eventually everything got reduced to assets and foolproof management formulas for the lowest common denominator. Nowadays people are so weak that they are terrified of even having passive hobbies. Playing videogames, listening to music, watching movies, reading books, forming their own taste and opinion is becoming an impossible task, they'd rather watch someone on youtube do it for them. Not to mention active hobbies like playing an instrument, driving a car or doing anything that requires physical engagement which was a source of inspiration for gamedevs of the past. They need of someone's approval or validation, they're pathologically incapable of living their own lifes, they can only observe like ghosts. A personal experience or any kind of personal engagement with anything is an alien concept for these people. People are ready to praise and reward others for doing the most trivial shit like lipsyncing on tiktok, playing videogames on twitch, making stupid faces on youtube, having sex on camera and taking photos for instagram. These people have replaced talented scientists, athletes, and artists who were setting world records, pushing the technological boundaries, discovering new things and creating pieces of art.

This. Now communism? That brings in the best video games. Just look how Soviets had Tetris. I mean sure it only got popular because of the Capitalist pigs at Nintendo bundling it with their handheld and there had been other tetromino based games before it, but that's not important. And now we have based China making Japanese gacha games where they exploit gambling addictions to rake in profit (but don't tell the our fellow marxist about the profit part).

not reading a single word of that.

Didn’t read, didn’t bump, etc.

>But eventually everything got reduced to assets and foolproof management formulas for the lowest common denominator.

When big capitalism realized gamers were an untapped market, THAT's when everything went down hill. Everything became investors, proofs something will sell, focus groups and diversity.

You dont have a group of guys making a finely tuned, sharp game anymore. you have multiple ideologies (programming and otherwise) and hundreds of people who couldnt give a shit about each other coalescing into a lukewarm product.

>tfw when they cancel the olympics to air chaturbate restreams to a live stadium

People also need to stop pretending they wouldn't fuck a 13 years old.

I very much doubt these people have replaced anyone.

Those are really the only two major economic systems that have produced video games. I mean have any African tribe working on the barter system made any games? Or have any hippie communes made a video game?

All notable and influential scientists, innovators, artists, musicians, directors etc are already very old or dead. There's nobody who will be able replace them due to the shrinking and ageing population. Even Kojima is in his 60s.

Ah yes, the great modern plague of passive entertainment the likes of
>listening to music, watching movies, reading books

You're a fucking retard.
