Why are so many people on the fence about whether or not SMTV is actually good, especially the story? I don't remember IV causing this much debate every time it's brought up.
Why are so many people on the fence about whether or not SMTV is actually good, especially the story...
I never played it but from what I hear
>good but unfinished
Because IV is an awesome game with a fleshed out world story and characters while V has almost no story, what is there is dumb, and the entire world is comprised of 4 deserts with different color tints
And yet there is nothing to prove it's unfinished.
>halfway through you go back to school
dropped there
i criticized the people who said it's soulless persona but honestly now i can understand where they're coming from
tranny game
IV was such a mistake
Nobody wants to admit that the game they wanted for literal years is just meh. Marketing never lied, the game isn't buggy or broken. There's no reason to scream or make youtube video essays. It's just... meh. That's the emotion you feel while playing SMTV... just meh. It's okay. It didn't shit the bed, it's just nothing. The story is almost non-existent until the end and what's there is barely a skeleton. It's not even terrible or so bad it's good. No major plot holes, it's just meh. It gets the job done, I guess.
People desperately want to either love or hate the game, but nobody can summon the strength. It's a gust of wind, a passing fancy. SMT, the unassailable franchise. SMT, the hardcore JRPG for hardcore players. SMT, pokemon in hell, SMT 2deep4u...but in the end it was nothing.
At least IV had plot holes to bitch about.
I enjoyed it enough to beat it 3 times and drop it mid way thru the 4th replay.
The Switch is a big success and a lot of niche games are getting shoved into the spotlight so you can expect a lot more retarded takes
Eceleb made a video saying it's bad
>Genuinely good open world-like formula
>Good music
>Good visuals
>Good combat
>Good fusion system
>One of the worst stories in a JRPG
It was so close. It was ALMOST there. 4 had problems, but those problems ran throughout the whole game, and were outweighed by the good aspects. 5 goes from a 9/10 game to a 2/10 whenever you see a cutscene past the first area. It's unreal how hilariously bad the story is. If this gets a Maniax version, they are morally obligated to redo the fucking story. They just need to raise the quality to at least "ok" to make this game an easy 8/10.
IV was trash the only reason there was no debate for IV was because it's a 3DS game and nobody game a shit about the 3DS
>released exclusively on a platform with over 100 million userbase
>only sold 1 million
still makes me laugh
>It's unreal how hilariously bad the story is.
His hilarious how retarded you have to be not to understand the story.
Because SnOY who never played the game are falseflagging against a Switch exclusive.
4 didn't come out during the era where hating Nintendo exclusives was the thing you did to fit in.
I couldn't finish IV because I was too bored
Good:
>Music
>Battle system
>Atmosphere
>Bosses
>Ending dungeons
Bad:
>Samey world design
>Dogshit story even by SMT standards
>Framerate on Switch (with PC faring better but still stutters)
>>halfway through you go back to school
>halfway
I'm currently downloading 4 (only ever played 3, 5 and DDS). What's so good/bad about it other than it being 2d?
Tranny main character. If it had a real man that I could self-insert and play as, then I'd be a lot more forgiving. This is the real truth and you will never accept this. No one likes this blue haired tranny
Naruku is a slog and the game will beat the shit out of you at the start plus tokyo can be rather confusing to traverse. I enjoyed it way more than SMT 3 for sure.
