Literally called stepwalker

>literally called stepwalker
>the only mainline metal gear that's incapable of walking
Bravo Kojima
>but what about Peace Walker's Metal Gears?
I said MAINLINE.

Peace Walker is mainline

It's a portable spin-off, doesn't even have a number in its name

>Metal Gears
>plural
The only Metal Gear is Peace Walker itself as it's the only one designed for and workable as a nuclear platform

Numbered entry =/= mainline, retardo

>shagohod
>rex
both nuclear capable (even though they wouldn't make any sense irl)

peacewalker was mgs5 in pre production fyi

Yes, but we're talking within Peace Walker itself. And I forgot Zeke but it also is capable of walking.

>is the first of its kind
>it crawls
It's a baby.

...holy fuck you're right
I hate you kojima

Zeke is the only true metal gear, as i remember, others are AI weapons platforms

Peace Walkers were the first of their kind, built with Granin designs Ocelot gave the CIA
Shagohod is not a Metal Gear per se

I've never played any Metal Gear game. What is the point of the Metal Gears? They are just land-based mobile nuke launchers?

The idea was to have a nuclear platform that would be immune to retaliation, as I recall.

kojima must've felt stupid when he found out about submarines

He never did.

Submarines cant get as close to land-locked teritories as a metal gear. Then again a truck with a ballistic missile launcher is as effective as a metal gear

Plus wasn't there also something in the first solid game where a Metal Gear lacks a tell-tale launch indicator due to being a rail gun?

>Submarines cant get as close to land-locked teritories as a metal gear.
neither can gigantic walking robots.
on the other hand, if you want to infiltrate short-range nukes into an enemy country, you can use a van or hatchback sedan without much difficulty and at much less expense

>Caring about realism in a game where dudes control bees and get peed on to bypass security

>consistency = realism
cope, timmy.

every work of fiction has some things that match up with real life, and some things that diverge from it

MGS is military fapfiction a la Tom Clancy, mixed 1:1 with superhero/spy pulp.
The fake stuff can get away with being fake, only so long as the real stuff remains real. The people in the world treat Russian gunships and psychic supervillains with equal gravity and that's what sells it. But when they talk about nuclear strategy and get it completely wrong, that harms the setting as a whole.
