I have never even tried monhun multiplayer and world and rise dont even have weird G rank scalings, so yeah it's fun

For most monsters, yes. Some are designed to be cancer unless you have 3 other people distracting them though

the game is infinitely better solo, without your little helper cat. it's more challenging, but it makes predicting the monster way easier as it will only aggro on you. having said that, what this user: said is true, there are a few "siege" monsters that are designed around fighting with 4 other players. they have since been patched to scale down their hp in single player, but it's not perfect.
ultimately i have 600 hours in world and 200 in rise, and 99% of that playtime is solo.

everything is soloable, the only thing you will have trouble with is safi which you need extremely good to solo but you can just mod a solo fight if you want to fight it

It's way better solo because you can control the aggro, the monster on the box there for instance has an attack that used to instant kill on release, with 4 players it was very hard to predict the location it would land and would often result in failed hunts, but solo it was incredibly easy to dodge.

From memory I think there are 3 monsters in high rank and 1 in master rank designed for multiplayer, but near the end of the updates they scaled everything to be doable in solo. Those few monsters are still designed around multiplayer, but the health has been scaled down. I’ve played through the entirety of World/Iceborne (minus the sieges pre update) and Rise/Sunbreak solo. Like the other anons have said, multiplayer is fun but in solo you can really control the fight since the monsters aren’t teleporting player to player.

Even some non siege monsters like Leshen are pure aids if their attention's completely focused on you

leshen, kulve and behe probably, all of them are soloable although you shouldnt bother with kulve as the MR fight is actually better and not a siege

Its fun. But after a couple of hundred hours when I used a free month on PSN I found the MP can be super fun and chill too..
Hunting with others, helping others.. for me it added something again after having played it for 100s hours alone

yeah when i originally played world i quit after jho too. since then i've done like 3 playthroughs and only fought leshen once or twice. it's just janky as fuck aoe spam and constantly respawning jagras raping you.

Imagine a teleporting aoe spammer that constantly summons gen 1 bullfango

Then get it on PC, consolefag.

It's not even that bad honestly, it's a cute change of gameplay.
The issue with Behemoth is that 1) He was impossible to do with randoms (too many mechanics could fuck the entire group if not done properly) and 2) Everyone was forced to farm him to get the best armor (by far, nothing was even remotely close) in the game.

He should've been an optional challenge at the end of the game, with just skins as rewards.

Ancient Leshen, Behemoth and Kulve.
Kulve is just a massive damage sponge but is still doable solo. With relative HR gear, it'll probably take a few runs.
Behemoth is definitely doable solo, just annoying with all its AoEs.
Ancient Leshen is really the only one I would say to bring a partner if you don't have MR Gear. The Vine trap can't be escaped from without outside help and the amped Jagras minions are annoying to deal with when you have the tree throwing shit at you too.
