That is literally the entire point of Warcraft. It was to take the darkest points of history (rape, genocide, famine) and recontextualize it in a high fantasy setting.
It was never meant to be a gay DnD Saturday Morning Cartoon with monsters of the week.
Asher Reed
Imagine reading all fiction through the lens of allegory.
Must be hellish.
Wyatt Price
it literally was and wow recontextualizes a lot of stale fantasy tropes like evil dragons into something more interesting
or well it used to
Brody Young
It was good in 2004-2006
Also orcs are based on germanic barbarians
Luke Collins
Orcs are actually a mix of mongols and germanic barbarians, but you don't hear from the latter because SJWs realise that white privilege isn't a thing and Any Forums retards throw a fit when they realise their so called master race lived in primitive mudhuts at one point
Thomas Price
what is this dumb faggot even saying. holy shit man.
Ayden Hill
>metahpor metaphor metaphor
kill the world already
Dylan Nguyen
Fascism is good, actually. More games should be fascist.
Ayden Powell
Most fiction is allegory, though. Even Tolkien, the orcs are an allegory for the evils of industrialization and the dehumanizing nature of war that results. CS Lewis is even more obvious, I can't find the meme but "If even a single person doesn't realize the big lion is Jesus I will kill myself" is the gist of it. Of course using historical allegories to set the beat of your story doesn't mean that it's le heckin unwholesome fascism, but there's not a single piece of fiction that has no connection to reality because everyone who produces fiction is real.
Then you've got stuff like Warhammer Fantasy where there's not even a veneer of allegory and most human nations are ripped straight from history with their name changed slightly (if at all.)
The problem isn't fantasy as allegory, it's fantasy as allegory for modern politics. And that has more to do with modern politics being garbage than allegory itself.

This dumb faggot has been slowly pozzing the wikipedia of wow with his own bullshit
Xavier Robinson
Yeah, WoW writing fell downhill when they acquired awful wattpad smut writers who didn't know what they were writing for. They should have hired history nerds because they don't go "YIKESS!" whenever they see an analogy to a bad historical event.
Jace Peterson
Meanwhile in real life.

just fucking make wow2 already, for fucks sakes...
Joshua Gray
Why? It would be made by the same people working on nu-WoW right now, and therefore would be equally as bad, if not worse
Josiah Sanders
