Weird. My 13 year old beat Myst yesterday. She beat the entire game in just one day after introducing it to her. I was surprised, I mean...it took ME multiple days but, hey. realMYST Masterpiece Edition is what we have. The Switch version is fucking choppy during certain sections of the game but otherwise, it's an amazing experience. Bring a notebook and pencil, get comfy, and enjoy it.

It's peak 90's. The music, art and overall picture quality are just incredibly nostalgic. Riven is the best game from this genre imo but you definitely should play Myst first.

Fuck I miss all that shit. The little manuals you needed to get through the game, the feelies that every game came with, the oversized boxes...There was so much inventiveness in how they packaged and sold a game. And this was standard too, none of this "special edition only" crap we get nowadays.

Myst has already been remade many times, it's not getting any better, just a fresh coat of paint on an aging game. AFAIK Starry Expanse is still progressing, so we should get that Riven remake one day. As for Exile, I could take it or leave it. I think Amateria was the only good level, though I did like the main story and the ending decisions

What is risen? You mean Riven? They didn't make Riven, Cyan did. Acclaim only published the Playstation version of the game. Ubisoft only published Exile, it was made by Presto, who made the journeyman project games. The only game that UbiSoft really fucked up was 4, since they actually developed it. However, I think 4 has some redeeming qualities.
