>Anno Domini 2022
>the only game that's successfully mimicked and improved upon the Bethesda formula came out 6 years ago
what gives?
Anno Domini 2022
>improved upon
I bought this game on during a steam sale but I just don't think I have the time to really get into it. Unfortunate bc it seems cool
what was "bethesda formula" about this game?
it has a good story, gameplay that doesn't hold your hand, and actually observes its lore. its the total opposite.
aw man it's so kino exploring that world. hope you'll find the time someday bro
Wish I could have gotten more into this game but the MC is such a goofy looking juvenile retard that I had trouble immersing myself. Also I have lost my patience for the weird stilted pace of these WRPG-style conversations where there’s a long awkward pause after every line of dialogue.
>quests require you to walk with an NPC at a snails pace for 10 minutes with minimal dialogue
>quests require you to wait until dusk/dawn for an NPC
>Each waiting session takes 1-3 minutes due to poor AI optimization
>Terrible inventory management system
>Weight carry limit is very restrictive for the sake of muh realism
>Clothes get dirty after walking around for an hour, bathhouses are never near a fast travel point
>Have to pay for saves unless you cheat and mod it out
>Random AI bugs, terrible combat system, and all around jank filling the game
This game had potential. But as it stands it's a poorly thought out and implemented piece of shit.
> but the MC is such a goofy looking juvenile retard
that's what makes it great, you start as an actual juvenile retard and grow up and become a self sufficient man, itrs a great progression experience beyond that of just levels.
Well that sounds kind of cool then. Steam wouldn’t let me refund it so I may go back to it someday
>goofy looking juvenile retard
He and Capon are supposed to be 16-18.
>in the beginning you’re sent to go collect a debt from that guy
>go and ask for debt back
>tells you to fuck off
>can choose to fight him
>ends conversation, letting him off
>stealth KO him from behind in hopes I’ll be able to take his key and get the money from his home
>can’t, mission already failed, money not in the house, and I was railroaded into making choices via dialogue instead of gameplay
Honestly, it was enough to make me not continue because they just don’t get it at all
>successfully
i mean besides having writing on par with a generic jrpg, sure
The devs said Henry is late 20s. His actor is in his 40s. They only look juvenile if you're a dysgenic cretin who aged like shit
You forgot the final battle which is not a siege it is a cutscene that has your character go up a ladder with a like 3 soldiers and an immortal commander and you have to fight in what amounts to a fucking tiny hallway against 14 enemies at once that infinitely respawn until you kill like 30 enemies.

thanks
>tfw stuck on the quest with the German guy
>Have to ride the FUCKING horse all the way back to that tree and meet him
>If I take a shortcut he ambushes me and kills me
>If i fuck up the dialogue he duels me and I die
If this games combat wasn't so fucking shit this game would be the best ever. Because everything else is 1000% kino.
>Finish shooting all your arrows in Chumps
>Spend the rest of the game standing in front of the other two archers so they can't shoot
just poison your blade bro
>If this games combat wasn't so fucking shit
l2combo or you can always just stab and laugh as your target bleeds to death. use a mace for heavy armored targets. use poison. there's many ways to get the job done in this game.
>Terrible inventory management system
>Weight carry limit is very restrictive for the sake of muh realism
get a horse, stop being poor
>Clothes get dirty after walking around for an hour, bathhouses are never near a fast travel point
get a horse, stop being poor
>Have to pay for saves unless you cheat and mod it out
stop being poor
>Random AI bugs, terrible combat system, and all around jank filling the game
bet you didn't train with the captain
>This game had potential. But as it stands it's a poorly thought out and implemented piece of shit.
