MW was generic tedious military shit.
WaW and all three BOs are really awesome.

CoD died with 4.

MW2 kind of kickstarted the whole 'crazy mlg gameplay' trend back in the early 2010s. For better or worse that really blew up the franchises popularity.

>MW was generic
It literally marked the death of overdone at the time WW2 shooters.

Black Ops 2 introduced everything wrong with modern CoD though
>MTX out the ass
>Paid weapon
>SMG rushdown/AR head glitch meta
>Patching anything fun out like full auto SWAT
>Zombies requiring 9 billion steps to play

It definitely started the downward spiral. But i think it was more of a top of the slide scenario. Fine in it's own right but planted the seeds of garbage.

I was rather talking about single-player campaign.
I totally don't understand all dislike for ww2 back then and future setting now.
WaW is still the most fun cod to replay on par with bo2 and bo3.

The campaign in mw2 had some of the most memorable moments. Fighting in D.C, Cliffhanger, and No Russian are still pretty iconic.

MW3 and BO2 were already going downhill BO1 was the last truly great

CoD2 > CoD2 expansions > CoD4 > MW2

Fixed your list, zoomer faggot.

CoD 2 had no expansions dumbass
The series has had only one expansion pack and it was for the first game

not modern warfare 3 and black ops 1. bo1 single player was good though

>CoD2 expansions
user, I...

I played CoD2 but never Big Red 1.

Mw3 was never good stop pushing this meme

>including MW3 and BO2
the first 4 are the only great ones

>still pretty iconic
But they're pretty boring.
Like, after all, No Russian is literally just a corridor.
By comparison first soviet mission in WaW is also a corridor with almost no action and even there they try to constantly change gameplay.
It's probably just different games for different people. Anything is better than modern cod.

>CoD1-2 run just fine at 144fps
>CoD4 is animation locked to 60fps despite having dedicated high FPS options
>WaW is locked to 90fps and has to be unlocked through the console despite also having in game options for unlocked framerate
>later games just lock the FPS to 90 and tell you to go fuck yourself

The gravity in Quake 3 engine is broken above 90 fps, which made you too fast when jumping above 90 fps. Yep, including Quake 3, that's why it was locked to 90 fps.

Survival was pretty cool though

It didn't seem to be an issue in the older CoD games

The future parts of the campaign for BO2 were absolute dogshit, should have kept with the Cold War era and vibe they had going in the first one.

players found out that strafing at 125 fps is the fastest though
i played waw through plutonium and it ran just fine at 240 fps for me
