how the fuck do you play this game?
Invade poland for danzig in 1938

Just give them Slovakia
well i wanted the rest of the country too, which is historically what happened
how do you "give" a country? first time playing, diplomacy is weird
honestly if you're having trouble when playing as germany, just give up
You can easily steamroll through Poland and just defend the north and west of Germany against naval invasion/Maginot line while you finish with Poland, then invade through belgium/Netherlands and paradrop onto paris
why?
do i need a navy to defend coasts or just a front line and forts? i still don't really understand navy combat
Navy is a literally only useful for naval invasions, you use them to patrol areas to prevent or allow a naval invasion to occur. You'll need your navy to gain naval supremacy over the coastline of the British isles so you can eventually naval invade them. Oh yeah that and transporting troops, you'll want a good naval force to make sure your troops don't get sunk if you want to move them between naval ports
Germany is easy modo
Put some of your troops (even one decent unit is enough) on the provinces with ports, that way if they try to naval invade they will be stopped. They might try to anval invade provinces without ports but until barges get invented its easy to dispatch those forces since they run out of supplies fast.
what's your point? im very obviously new to this genre and still learning
thanks, ill do this on my next try. also, should i convert civs or just build new military factories? i struggled with air superiority against fucking poland lol, so i obviously fucked up production
>should i convert civs or just build new military factories?
I always play small to medium size nations as seen so i prefer to build up my economy longer, so keeping those civ factories are a must. For playing a big one you could probably convert some stuff if you don't plan to build a lot of industries anymore.
>i struggled with air superiority against fucking poland lol
Fighter planes are by far the most important, followed by tac bombers, naval/strategic and transport in this order.
thanks for the tips, i guess i tried to spread out a bunch of stuff and ended up with nothing packing any real punch
Be wary of how terrain effects combat. If you are pushing into a mountainous territory, like most of southern Poland, the defending troops will have a big combat bonus and cut you down to pieces. Next time, try to quickly take Danzig to connect your front lines and then push the bulk of your forces through the middle of Poland to Warsaw.
>i struggled with air superiority against fucking poland lol
maybe because you fucking suck
I like HoI3 map.
Best one of any Paradox game
defending against France shouldn't be a problem, they barely attack so half an army should do. Put the rest on the polish border and just roll over them, they shouldn't be able do do anything against full strength german army
that's not possible without cheats/mods is it?
There are people that managed a world conquest with Krakow in Victoria 2 so anything is possible even without cheats.
yeah no shit retard
i really wanna play this but it runs like fucking ass on windows 10, are there any fixes other than that launcher file? I tried that and it still sucks
>world conquest with Krakow in Victoria 2
uh what? I thought wc in vic2 wasn't possible because you simply don't have enough game time
thanks for the tip, but the land war in poland wasn't really the issue despite my low amount of fighter planes. i was just completely caught off guard by the british and french (i only had one army close to france), i should've paid more attention to diplomacy
Maybe i was remembering wrong and that didn't happen but WC in Vicky 2 are absolutely possible, just harder than normal to accomplish.

Yeah, dumbass, HOI 4 is easy enough for casual players
