Half a decade later STILL the best modern stealth game

how did they do it?

I prefer the Styx franchise honestly. Invisible Inc at a close second.

>i prefer literal eurojank

you didnt post dishonored 1 though?
1 = KoD > 2 > shit > DoTo
1 is less buggy, 1 has more fluid movement, 1 has better characters, story, writing, voices, and a better setting. the stealth is more or less the same, except in 2 is buggy and youll get literally get spotted through walls (and no, im not talking about them hearing you or finding corpses.)

>the best modern stealth game
>Not Aragami
>Not Mark Of The Ninja

47 would have SASO'd every level without the angst and made the outsider ashamed of being a metaphysical edgelord.

For me it's Chaos Theory

Idk what Aragami is, but Mark of the Ninja is great, but some people would rather play 3d than 2d.

>dishonored
>stealth
ummm no

Does Arkane have the most dedicated shill team? They make some of the most unremarkable 5/10 shovelware, it ends up being a flop, and then every time it gets shilled here like it's the holy grail of its genre. Impressive.

Kek, I like how there is so much dislike for Arkane. They fucking deserve it.

Fuck off Razorfist, nu-Deus Ex is shit.

Did you think I would disagree with you? No, I absolutely agree, SE is shit and DE is a terrible franchise. Least favorite cyberpunk inspired games.

Gameplay wise it was great. But I prefer D1's for the plot, character and atmoshpere. Pacing in D2 feels weird, like there's no build up for the ending. You complete several missions and then enter empty castle to kill Delilah - felt weird and halfassed compared to the betrayale and dramatic revenge at the end of D1.

no stealth games have released since then

The thing that annoys the shit out of me is the bonecharm crafting in 2. Such worthless skill bloat, only so you can savescum and make a charm that's actually useful like one from the first game.

I actually think it's somewhat good idea considering how many bonecharms there are in the game and that you can only equip 5 (10 with upgrades). But wasting runes on it felt well like a waste. It should be a thing by default.

>how did they do it?
what other modern stealth games are there that are actually good? New Deus Ex?

no

Styx games. And people are praising Black List, havent played it myself.

Honestly I wish the game just let you choose which bone charm to pick up, some of them are utterly useless depending on your playstyle
Faster choking when I'm killing everyone?
Sword swing speed when I'm doing a ghost run?
Bonus from drop assassination when I'm doing a no kill run?
Useless.

In some ways I think the randomness can make replays more interesting for such a short game though

That's not MGSV though

fpbp
styx was a fucking solid stealth game, except for having detective vision
rare example of a game that understands what difficulty means and bothers to take into account that shanking someone actually takes time
dishonored bored the fuck out of me, it was like playing a game that was trying so hard to look up to his well built chad brother despite not being equipped for it, and fucking it up and falling short in every aspect
only people who played dishonored as their first stealth game could believe it was the best

yup, one of the greatest
its a shame they streamlined the series when chaos theory was the peak and just needed better visuals

Loved the game, my only grip were the enemies that detect you within a radius as they made the games pretty annoying.

>1 is more fluid
While it's good it's not as fluid as 2 but that's not me saying 1 is bad but rather 1 being really good already and 2 just improving. Emily is a bit janky but Corvo plays just like 1 and the environments are cooler and offer more creative opportunities. I don't entirely like how they recycled Delilah in 2 but it was still good. DotO was complete shit imo. I loved seeing Daud return but Lurk going on this dreamed up vendetta all of a sudden because she is a literal nigger and blames the Outsider for all of her wrong decisions is just really bad. Daud recognizes that it was him and him alone doing the killing but Lurk takes until the end of the fucking game to have the fucking insight that she isn't correct.

This is some horrible bait. The game is plagued with inconsistencies, from the ai to sound design. The story is severely underwhelming. Levels don't feel varied or naturally progressive. The concept of bonecharms are dated and bloated, especially for the length of this game.
