It can be. But most players don't want to actually play the game as intended so most squads are just a couple riflemen and no squad leader, so you'll rarely get spawns close to objectives. Enjoy spending 75% of your play time sprinting across maps only to get shot from out of nowhere by some machinegunner with foliage turned off.

lots of potential. can be god tier with a good group. but very frustrating for the majority of the time

If you know someone to play with.
No one wants to lead the squad, and then if you do it good luck finding non-retarded squad mates who will listen and communicate. And then you need to have commander, which no one wants to play because squad leaders do not listen to him.
Community is pretty shitty for a game dependent on so much communication.

It's good when you have a leading SL or commander but if they don't have a mic it can be very difficult at times

it is really fun if you have solid team, its more that average player is fundamentally shit

I tried squadleading but nobody listens they just want you to move the spawn point around

then I tried commander and if you know what you are doing its laughable easy to collapse the enemies front by dropping supplies and spawns in the right spaces.

But that turns the games into 10 miknute long races to the enemies last cap where you barely even fight them, so I decided the game was for total fucking noobs and moved on with my life.

HLL is the run and gun shooter out of all the PR clones lmao. Glorified hardcore battlefield.

as it's been said already it can be real fun if you land in a good squad, or at least in a squad with people that speak, from my experience you'll find this more often in tank squads since you just need 3 people including yourself, playing with a friend in a recon squad is also fun (only needs 2 people, spotter and sniper)

I've noticed with games that are squad-like is that the community will go the extra fucking mile to blame everything wrong with the game on new players

If you wanna LARP with boomers that you're in a WWII military? Yes.

If you wanna just play battlefield? No.

because most of us veterans come from PR where you were pretty much guaranteed to be able to find a competent squad every time you joined a game

and then we play these games like squad/HLL/post scriptum and all these fucking battlefield noobs wet themselves over the ability to work together while putting forth minimum effort to listen to a leader and work together.

this game isn't even squad-like, it's basically a more hardcore version of battlefield. that's why the PR neckbeards and LARP virgins get so uppity when HLL comes up, because they try to take it way more seriously than its made to be and when everyone else is having fun they shit themselves because everyone is ignoring them lol
