Sanderson does this kind of thing that in lore "soft magic" is actually sci-fi tech and Miyazaki said he wanted to make an open world mech game with mixed Souls and AC gameplay.
Later Miyazaki also said he wanted to improve the open world formula fron Elden Ring so it's clear he realized big ass mech > horse

Déraciné was actually quite good too, but wasn't financially viable of course. I immediately thought the next "fantasy" game might be a mix that can use VR or normal controls like recent RE games
