These discussions are retarded. It's an RPG with terrible feedback pretending to be an action, that's just it. You're not much swinging a sword as you're just rolling dices, the game just sucks at informing you of what the results are, relying too much on audio cues to do so.

This could have been easily solved in many ways and instead Oblivion chose to average damage based on hit rate instead and now we have foam sword combat as a solution. Morrowind combat isn't good, but it sure is better.

openmw is braindead easy to install, I followed the graphics overhaul list and it turned out really well
