95% of builds are unreliable

>95% of builds are unreliable
>literally only 3 stats matter
who fucking thought this was a good idea

That's literally how pathfinder the TTRPG works too tho

What are the 3 stats? Im just starting this game and I haven't played pathfinder stuff before.

>95% of builds are unreliable
No they're not
Either git gud or stop playing on fucking unfair

>builds
What builds? You can pick any class and just level it up exclusively and you'll be fine. You don't have to do autistic min maxing shit.
>3 stats
How many stats matter depends on your class. How is it a problem that a fighter can just dump his INT and CHA while Wizard can dump everything that doesn't give him extra magic power(unless you're doing a hybrid which needs more).

Let me guess. You tried playing on unfair difficulty without any prior experience with table top based computer games, looked up some build online and then got mad that you got fucked up, is that it?

But how do I get a cute furry wife IRL???

>only 3 stats matter
user, even con matters if you build kineticist.
% of builds are unreliable
Non-viable would be a better word, and that is not true, even on unfair.
Sorry, storm walker ranger and flame dancer bard are not good picks on unfair.

If you are talking about core or below, you are such a fucking casual, it's unreal

Literally impossible

What are the good builds? What are the fun ones?
It's the content locked behind dialogue options that you need high charisma to win?

How do you mean? Challenging can be cleared with pretty much anything if you're at least smart enough to build towards the things you want to be good at.

Tons of builds are viable, no idea what you like.

There are skill checks that unlock new dialogue options and/or ways to resolve quests, but it's more than just persuasion and 99% of them can be done by members in your party, not just you.
Even a series of checks for the secret ending can be bypassed by doing a quest.
Most locked options are behind the mythic paths

KM > Wotr

Hasbro when they bought TSR and decided that D&D should be more "like MtG", so you fill the game with obvious trap options and the players feel smart for avoiding it. Sad, right?

no

if you made a list of every theoretical level distribution and referred to each of them as a build then yeah 95% of them would be unreliable. probably more than that. but they'd also be fucking retarded just like you.

>It's the content locked behind dialogue options that you need high charisma to win?
Doesn't matter because you can use high CHA companions like Arue and Daeran
Not to mention you don't strictly need a CHA build, just increase persuasion

>1 level on each class
>20 spellbooks
Great fun

KM encounter design was fucking atrocious. Game constantly attempts to catch you on some bullshit that will fuck you if you don't expect it and force you to reload, but is trivial when you expect it. Wrath gives you more difficult but more straightforward fights. They improved a lot with second game.

>95% of builds are unreliable
in order for your choices to matter some have to be objectively wrong
pathfinder is based around the idea that you shouldn't stop players from ruining their builds
it used to be a common mindset back in the day and it's a breath of fresh air to see it return

The trap options are to make you feel smart when you realize they're idiotic.

I'm not sure if some builds are really bad by default. If you multiclass and don't know what you are doing you can really fuck up tho.

The trap options also exist as gimmies you can offer people toughness as a free feat that they get for taking a certain prestige class and they'll be happy for the extra health instead of mad they were given it instead of something more useful because it's free on top of everything else. afaik there's even methods in 3.5 for just getting some weak feats by performing certain actions with your characters (afaik you can ge ironguts by submerging yourself in a tank of rotting fish and passing enough fort saves).
