343 should have never been allowed to touch the game after 4. They already proved at 4 that they couldn't handle it, no idea how Microsoft has just let one of their biggest franchises die like this.

I'm going through the series before tackling Infinite and I burned out at Halo Wars 2

Because the Halo you probably used to play is long-dead, along with the old Bungie-era communities. All the old xbox servers are gone and the only way to recreate it is using the crappy M$/343 service garbage that keeps adding more layers of shit-colored paint to the old games without stopping.

343 made so many blunders that they have killed the series.
