Is in first person

>is in first person
>you shoot 90% of the time
>fans refuse to label it as an FPS
why????

because it's not made by sony or xbox

But it is an FPS. Who the fuck says Metroid Prime isn't an FPS?

Miyamoto said that Metroid Prime is a "First-Person Adventure" back in the day.

It's not a FPS. It's the closest to being a first person adventure game or something.

Because you shoot aliens and not persons.
Therefore it is not a first person shooter.

FPS and adventure aren't mutually exclusive.

Yeah, 'adventure' is a weird genre.

Is FTL an adventure? You adventure across like the whole universe to beat a massive final boss. But I'd scratch my head if it had the tag for some reason.

kek

Because 'FPS' typically carries the connotation of being primarily focused on frenetic action and bombastic set pieces. The Prime games, being Metroid titles, are primarily focused on exploration and collecting power ups to make progress through the environment.

>thinking every fps has these
>thinking prime doesn’t have these
you people need to actually play the games you post about instead of arguing on what genres are supposed to be

lol

Because it's a game for children.

>why
Because it has lock-on.
This is going to be a retarded thread.

Metroid Prime is a dog shit game with 47 scans and beams and awful first person platforming. It's so weird that people praise the fuck out of this game when it feels like such jank shit to play.

So what.

Unbreakable logic, Any Forums has yet to refute this.

this
2D metroid>3D metroid

>you shoot 90% of the time
>not dash jumping through every room and going out of bounds whenever possible
you're playing the game wrong OP

bug men are people too

would you consider super metroid to be a third person shooter

You shoot human troopers in Prime 2.

*human bodies controlled by aliens

They're still people.
