Game requires dlc to have the best experience

>game requires dlc to have the best experience

will this bullshit ever end?
back in the good ol days you buy the game and it Just Werks (tm)

Snek sex

Paradox have killed the grand strategy genre. EUIV is a nightmare experience now, with 60 shallow systems that add virtually nothing. Their subscription service is the nail in the coffin.

>game is shit

To be fair, they also invented the grand strategy genre so it was theirs to ruin

no

But that's the intended experience though.

>game requires you to embed pornography in game assets and shit up the digital playground
>no fixes from developers

Anyone who doesn't enjoy vanilla Bethesda games are soulless bugmen. This has been true throughout my entire life.

Like RimWorld's hidden expansion RJW?

>game has no gameplay

Why would you install a mod that makes the aliens look ugly.

EUIV is the worst offender there, yeah. Lots of paper thin things. I've mostly been playing Stellaris lately, which takes decent care of most of its systems and doesn't let them just rot, but it does suffer badly from the DLC-itis. Instead of pay this much to add this paper thin mechanic, it's pay this much for a portrait pack that adds a trait or two.

I tried to like this game so hard, but it always becomes an unbearable chore mid to late game, even when playing on the smallest galaxy setting.
Any 4X games that don't default to micromanaging a million cities after a while?

>micromanaging a million cities
but that's the best part

Not real time
Grand strategy is the word Paradox invented for real-time nation-scale games

>game relies on multiplayer but has terrible netcode.

>muh RISK
Found the boomer. Paradox invented strategy games grandpa.

>Not real time
literally doesn't fucking matter in the context of the genre

is it even real-time if you can just keep pausing to carefully consider your next move and click menu buttons?

hyper shit is giga cringe brother
cute boys otherwise

That's called RTWP or real time with pause

Yes.
It does, since that's what Paradox called the genre of their games

I'm pretty autistic when it comes to games, but even I reach a breaking point when having to queue in the same shit for the millionth time. The most fun I had in most 4x were one city / one planet challenges. I would just play city builders, but these have no or too little combat going on.

Blame RNGesus kek

>buy paradox DLC for the price of about 3 indie games
>they added a button you can click every 10 years to get a modifier
>updated the mission tree of some shithole country you'll probably never play
>also it's going to delete your save files if you try to load them, have fun

I imagine having your dick against a piece of metal would be quite cold
