3x3 thread
Since the DLC came out I think I've played a full run of Cuphead every other day. Such a good game.

Cuphead is shit
the few platforming levels are shit
and most of the bosses are unmemorable shit
If it wouldn't have le unique art style, most people wouldn't be cumming in their pants over this mediocre game

Midwit opinion
It's an easy contrarian opinion to make yourself look smart
Obviiiooouuusly, since this game looks good it must only have that as its main quality, nothing can be good at multiple things after all
You don't have to really analyze anything, or even play the game, just say shit that might sound kinda correct to other retards. That's the Any Forums method.

I would recommend Crack Down, the old sega one, not the new microsoft ones

Joust is excellent. I would recommend Mario Bros., Mappy, and Robotron 2084

Whatever you say, Mr. I-outsource-my-taste-to-matthewmattosis

It's better to like good video games than to refuse to like good video games for e-penis. I am happier than you.

I have not played any of this games, despite there being several that I'd like to. Didn't grow up with a Nintendo console until the wii.
Have played several Tony Hawk games, but not 3. Played a handful of 3D Mario games, including Sunshine and Galaxy, but not 64 (or rather I picked it up for about 10 minutes drunk at a friends house, we took turns playing and I was too drunk to control it lol). Played a handful of Castlevania games, but not SotN.
Alien Soldier looks pretty neat. Watched Matthewmatosis play it. Have a copy of Resi4 and might play it soon.
Good list tho. Gamer list.
This is jokes.
I did like the first Lego Star Wars game though. It was a nice easy pick-up-and-play game and even my mom could get into it. She loved to pick yoda and just flip around the screen. Good memories playing it with my mom and sister.
Lego Star Wars 2 kinda got way too involved with all the collectibles though, and I kind of lost interest. Played Batman 1 and that too was just too far from the simplicity of the first one. Yea they're already really simple games, but it was nice that the first one was so simple an adult who had no interest in vidya could understand it. Is this opinion zoomer or boomer...
Based MGS enjoyer. I've played 2 and 5. Would love to play 4 sometime. FFXV is casual but fun. Very unique game: the only thing I can think to compare it to is Death Stranding, due to them both being sort of casual American Road trip simulators. I like it a lot.
Haven't played Dark Souls 3, but I don't really get liking souls games for their difficulty alone, which seems like the reason someone would prefer 3 over Demon Souls or Dark Souls.
Joust is quite fun, but does having only Atari games on your grid count as contrarianism? There is something to be said about the mechanical purity of Atari games, but it's a stretch to think you'd consider them favorites because they're truly the best videogames have to offer.

Of course you are happier. Think of all the dopamine hits you will get whenever some gives you 9/9 or a + for the all of the matthew-approved games on your 3x3

I do like Robotron 2084, but my list is solely comprised of Atari 2600 games and Robotron 2084 wasn't released on atari 2600, at least, not officially. As for Mappy and Mario Bros., they didn't do much for me personally, 2600 version or arcade version.
>does having only Atari games on your grid count as contrarianism?
The only reason why I do gimmick 3x3 is because I find it gets fucking boring posting the same 3x3 over and over again. So I decided it would be fun to make strict 3x3, so I try to do one for a specific console or a single genre or a certain company games, shit like that. That way, I'm encouraged to make pretty radically different 3x3, as well as, to play more games in general. Whenever, I do make these strict 3x3, it's very rare do I have some of the games that would be on my regular 3x3 grid. I think only a few times when I did genre specific grids did some of my actual favourite games came up, like, one I did for jrpgs a while back had stuff like SMT4, DQ4, P5R on it, or a mega drive specific 3x3, games like Sonic 3&K and Streets of Rage 2 were on it and those usually end up on my 3x3

I would recommend either Azure Striker Gunvolt or Shinobi 3

Ah based.
I have a similar impulse.

Should replace GTA SA with NGB..

I personally always preferred GTA3 and especially VC over SA . NGB is a great game as well. I would recommend Dragon's Dogma

You made me crave Lego Star Wars just now. I don't think I can resist. Do the games released on Steam have Steam achievements? That would be insane.

Doesn't the complete saga technically include 1-3 from your 3x3?

>Should replace GTA SA with NGB..
I am more partial to VC myself.

I do that sometimes too. I've done one for point and click, puzzle games and mystery games.

Cuphead might be the highest quality game to come out in the past 10 years

I never owned a Nintendo home console and I regret it, I had great times with my Game Boy.

I really enjoyed MGS4 as well besides the hate it got on release. Gun porn has always been a big selling point for me.

I don't know a single game from there

Somehow I got the a CD including the trilogy in elementary school and really enjoyed it.

I'm pretty bad at DMC though, and I don't know what the last one is.

I haven't updated this in a while.
