IT STARTS WITH

ONE THING

to a degree
artstyle matters much more

Yes. More art style than HD.

Yes.

I DON'T KNOW WHY

IT DOESN'T EVEN MATTER HOW HARD YOU TRY

>reaching the point where improvements are increasingly hard to see
>file size of games on the drive are increasingly ballooning
I'm kind of done with the graphics meme to be quite honest, would much prefer 10,000+ smaller sized games with stylized art than to only be able to install around 20 with le photorealism.

KEEP THAT IN MIND I DESIGNED THIS RHYME TO EXPLAIN IN DUE TIME

high-fidelity graphics honestly annoy me at this point
RDR2 is a beautiful game for example, but it's so hard to actually find enemies without using the radar because everything is so equally detailed that it all blends together
plus you have to choose between having a jagged mess of pixels or a TAA blurfest

i don't understand this meme

>HELLO GORDON

Graphics only matter to show the proper intent and atmosphere of the game, everything past that is just pointless.
See: wind waker HD adding a bunch of bloom and shit that wasnt needed.

Wasn't this video shown on MTV once? something something about an online contest

"Photorealistic" graphics in games are too common to be impressed by it anymore. Kind of like how everyone got used to movies having "good CGI" about 20 years ago. What matters much more is a pleasing artstyle.

This one was apparently

Most films still have shit CGI interestingly enough. The trex from the first jurassic park still looks better than some of the shit in the new films.

ALL I KNOW

Yep it was this one

There used to be just a few companies that specialized in CGI and they were extremely good at it. Now that nearly every movie uses CGI heavily there's an entire market for it and they usually go to whoever will do it cheapest and it shows because it looks like shit.

Art direction matters, graphics are important but secondary to the finished product.
