The biggest problem with Drawn Together is that it encapsulated way too many generations of animation that were going to alienate pretty much everyone. Anyone who gets the Betty Boop references weren't going to understand the Pokemon and Spongebob parodies, and vice versa. Most people didn't know what Foxxy Love was supposed to be a parody of. Etc.

Rick and Morty was unironically good in the first 2 seasons, then it got destroyed by female writers and Dan Harmon bending the knee to nu-media liberalism. It was the fans of Rick and Morty who saw it as anything more than a funny and sometimes cleverly written cartoon that made it a problem. Then the entire fandom became a walking talking meme, so no one wants to associate with it.

Remember, there is a canonical episode about muh women empowerment, floating evil sperm with morty's dna, and an incest baby finale. There is also an episode about dragon furfags. The show fucking dropped the ball hard and now just seems like it's huffing it's own farts.
