I'm going to get a lot of hate for this, and absolutely shafted but after getting good at competitive 1v1 mp games of multiple genres, I for the life of me cant get back into sp games.
I know they are completely different and offer different types of challenges/mediums but I cant help myself.
I not an adhd ridden sperg either, I read novels in my spare time, and work from home as a civil engineer, but I just cant get into sp games anymore.
I tried nioh, sekiro, puzzle games, doom eternal... but never finished them.
There are many great sp games but none can compare to competitive mp games.
Whats wrong with me?

as an adult you kind of need to appreciate games as an artform/craft to get enjoyment out of singleplayer games
or maybe you need to broaden your appeal of what you get from games. sounds like you're playing them mostly for the mechanical challenge

You worked hard towards a difficult and long goal, learning a lot of things in the way and now, your brain is tuned to that system of playing games and doesn't really like anything else. I think if you kept playing different and good games, you'd probably enjoy them, but there's nothing wrong with just playing the same game if you like it. My dad played Hades for 300 fucking hours and it wasn't because there was a lot of variety or a lot to do, he just liked playing the game and didn't care about anything else. He still plays it now, even though he got the thing that requires an absolutely collosal amount of dark essence or whatever it's called.

Emulate some snes/gba games.

Frogs aren't meant to be handled. Oils and shit from your skin can make them sick.

same thing here. it's gotten way worse over time. i can't enjoy nearly any SP game without making it really fucking hard or competitive for myself. if the game is easy i don't even bother trying it and i guess that makes sense in male brain since competition really drives us forward.
i unironically wanted to get Farming Simulator 22 for the management side of the game and i am currently trying to figure out how to maximize profits as quickly as possible.
i spent more time looking up guides and tips on the game than playing it because i don't want to flop around the game like a retard figuring out shit slowly.
i used to enjoy SP games way more and i could do nearly anything in it and have fun. i'd probably be able to enjoy SP games again if i stopped playing MP games completely but i don't really want to.
SP games are for casuals and i'm no casual.

I just like the variety in comp mp games that unpredictability players bring to the table.

Playing against human beings feels different. I was like that for a while but at a certain point I realized I just wanted to relax. I can't relax when I'm fighting against humans. I still enjoy both.
