It's is kinda poetic when you think about it. She loved the world, yet her brethens who bore the same love, loved each another. They fought and fought to find a way to protect and keep themselves and the world alive, while she did nothing.

The story should have leaned more on Meteion being simply a conduit to the actual villain of the expansion, that being the combined grief of a whole universe's worth of dead
That is kind of what is already the case, but the game should have made it more obviously that it is less a case of "I, Meteion, have found that the universe is dead and hopeless and decided to skullfuck all of you to death" and more a case of "Meteion Collective goes into space, and either mindmelds with the grief of countless dead civilizations and unintentionally spawns a Despair Hivemind out of it due to her own hivemind capabilities, or simply functions as a sign for an already-existing Despair Hivemind that reads 'hey, I'm from Etheyris, come eat us!'"

I think this is a important point being not discussed enough. Azem rejected her plan, and why? I can understand why he rejected Zodiark plan because it was required the death of his friends.

One thing that's a bit funny about Hydaelyn is how throughout the whole game you have visions of the gigantic Crystal that you talk to, and then you finally physically reach it and it has that awkward moment of "no you don't faggot, I'm not the crystal, it's me, I'm this tiny thing over here"
