Not really. 2 could get a bit grindy, but I don't think it was too bad. The characters were all decent. A bit generic if you have seen a few harem anime, but still decent characters.

My issue with 2 is how you have to use thieves to steal from certain mobs to unlock the advanced classes. Other than that, it's good fun.

Haven't played the original, so I've no idea how its difficulty is, but the remake has zero challenge. It's pretty much a cakewalk from start to finish.

I never finished it, but it was okay. The girls can't go into dungeons with you, so they only exist for the dating sim parts. The actual RPG part didn't feel as grindy as 2, but there are 12 girls instead of 7 which made the dating sim parts drag for me. If your aren't autistic like me and try to get full hearts on all the girls as the hearts unlock it shouldn't be too bad though.

I remember playing the second on on 3ds and I had no fucking idea how the damage was calculated, like even trying to match weakpoints/weakness/class etc... it always felt kinda random
The only thing that really was consistent was that the more arrows, the more damage.
Infact I remember the Dungeon master dealing a ridicolous amount of damage with the 4 side skill

I feel like I'm one of the few dozen people who actually played 2. It was VERY grindy, yes, but the girls were all cute and well-modeled, which made the VN segments really enjoyable. Pretty much everything other than the gameplay was fun.
