Indie games are better than Triple A games in the year 2022. More passion, care and and effort put into indie games overall with a few exceptions fitting this criteria in triple A games.

The truth is if you were to play random indie vs random AAA you'd prefer AAA. There's so many babies first game being sold for 20 dollars hoping EGS will moneyhat them, and asset flips, and trying to make bad clones of the latest fad game. I'd definitely rather play random AAA over random indie, though I'd probably rather play cherry picked indie over random AAA.

that's all well and good until you actually pay for the game you're playing
a mediocre indie title will hardly put a dent in anyone's wallet, even at their most expensive they range from 30 dollars to completely free
a mediocre AAA title will be 70 USD + microtransactions + battlepass + day 1 DLC + tip also intrusive DRM.
