To show how run down life under the plate is both as a city and as a people. Life under the plate sucks. It really fucking sucks. Above the weapons shop in Sector 7 there's a fighting pit where adults are being on children beating the shit out of each other. On the train tracks 2 people are implied to have made a suicide pact just one day after returning home and the conductor doesn't even bat an eye. And the Wall Market is a red light distinct where everything is for sale including your body. The love hotel there is the crown jewel there where prostitution is just normal. Fucking the entire place is run by a pimp who kidnaps women daily to pretend to be his wife before he gets bored and throws them and the losers away to be gang banged by his crew. Not even badass soldier 1st class is immune from it. Hey that almost sounds like a reflection of the evil corporation above their heads that monetized the souls of the fucking dead. In video games show don't tell is paramount and you can see how irredeemable life under the plate really is and how these people just make the best of it. If you can't escape your shitty life then maybe fucking a prostitute or going to the drug store that's around the corner might numb you to it just for a little while. It's gotta be better than the people on the train who work on the plate but can't afford to live there.
