Do normies have no sense of adventure? No desire to travel into the unknown? Every normie I recommend this too says it was boring and refunded it.
Do normies have no sense of adventure? No desire to travel into the unknown...
I’ve only ever seen people shit on OW on this board. Everyone I know irl who’s played it thinks it’s kino
Gee I bet this thread will be full of reasonable people that played the game and won't call it a tranny reddit game
I've had 3 different friends drop it despite my insistent recommendation.
Tastes have changed. There was a time when Myst was a best-selling game. Try and imagine something like that happening today, it's impossible.
i heard people comaplin that they "don't know where to go"
are the so conditioned by other games telling exactly where to go that idea idea of exploring seems alien to them?
bro, just go fucking anywhere and you'll find something.
How do into it? I just can't seem to give a fuck about whatever alien time travel shit is going in this game.
no great thing is ever made to be appreciated by every single person. i love the game but i wouldn't berate someone for disliking it, i'd only get frustrated at someone for refusing to try it for more than a few minutes
Outer Wilds pretty much gives you clues anywhere you go. It's impossible to get lost for like 99% of the game.
You either push through or drop it. It's much more than le alien time travel. If you don't like exploration, it's not for you.
>Too spoopy
They don't want to work for it, they want an arrow to point them where to go right away. Sad, honestly.
I've tried to get a mate into it but he dropped it as soon as he saw the game page.
How does the mysterious solar system with unique planets-- one pouring sand into another like an hour glass, one collapsing into a black hole, one a nest of giant angler fish, one a giant tempest covered water planet, with a bunch of smaller points of interest in between-- not peak your interest for exploration? Even if you arent interested in understanding why the sun is exploding in an endless loop (though a normal person should be), its still a game that commands attention and a sense of wonder. wtf is wrong with you
This game is really scary
be proud that you are able to enjoy it
No and no
I try to autistically find out everything on one planet before I move on, and the time factor is just too gay. Ruins the game for me. It's not fun to fly to the same planet and do the same things over and over just because you missed some shitty lore text
>inb4 just go to another planet
No
Some people would rather click on heads than try to solve a mystery it is what it is.
the sense of urgency is what makes the game fun user
Stop being a retard and use knowledge gained from previous cycles to find shortcuts, they're everywhere. If you have to do the same things repeatedly you're doing something wrong.
if the game was more clear, ie it stated to the player "your job is to learn what happened to the nomai and solve the mystery they couldn't, and you can do this by going anywhere and doing anything so long as you're being studious with your message reading" then a lot less people would feel this way.
however. to have such a message would diminish the magic. but initially, such a level of freedom is strange and overwhelming compared to other games. it's understandable why people would be alienated.
for me, the first thing i did was land on giant's deep. i read the messages about the statue workshop and how there was a secret way in. i could peer into the workshop from above. i wanted to solve the mystery of how to get in first thing. after i did that, i was pretty gratified and went on to other planets to solve their various mysteries, completely unaware of how those mysteries would tie together into the eye of the universe. so any kind of explicit direction on the game's part is probably ill-advised and likely to ruin the feel. but. i don't think it's bad if someone who's familiar with the game tells someone that they want to initiate into the game to just play, explore, and solve mysteries. maybe imply a larger mystery if they need more to keep them going.
