spent the last 2 days playing ff11 eden Private server its the most frustrating game experience i ever had, multiple times now i shut the game off just to turn it back on in 10 mins bros why aren't you playing?
also should i sub to retail ff11? or is the retail version to different?
retail is more modern in that its a single player game until endgame. personally i'd say stick with private servers.

>bros why aren't you playing? with the way you described it, it sounds awful
Jason Hall
I've played on every private server trying to recapture the game and all of them have failings that make it feel like shit once you get past level 30ish.
Luke Sanchez
All my friends that played on private servers had much more fun playing on the retail servers.
Cooper Lee
Good god, fix your aspect ratio. Your shit is stretched.
John Collins
nah she just thicc

it kind of a is a bad game, but i can't stop playing it. there's just nothing that beats slow earned progression in video games. i never played 11 but i played a lot of everquest growing up on my dad's account and i think overall everquest is a more interesting and fun classic mmo but im really enjoying 11. my only issue is that im playing on eden because i heard it was the most popular and this is a party based game so more people equal less waiting around but even the most popular its kind of deadish, like im getting into groups but you have to really try to get in one. thats why i was asking about retail but if retail now just plays like a new mmo i might as well juts play 14 at that point.
William Perry
lol he doesn't even have lax idle installed.
Ryder Wilson
yeah im new. i don't even know what that is
Jackson Cook
Makes mithra stand more sexy. Good luck finding the dats without getting a virus now though.

Retail is a mess of cliques and people wanting more gear for content than you actually need, especially if you're a poor Bard.
Can't even gear a RDM these days within 150mil ready to blow on Su5 and reforge mats if you don't want to spend months farming it yourself.
>there's just nothing that beats slow earned progression in video games. i never played ff11 but i understand. while you were playing everquest i was playing dark age of camelot, and leveling to max level could take a decent player moooonths. so fucking slow but the party based aspect of these old mmos just had so much more of a rewarding feel hope you continue to enjoy user, there's beauty in archaic
Thomas White
Man, I can’t even figure out how to pay for retail.
Kevin Stewart
is it worth playing on a private server? I can't afford the sub fee
Landon Sullivan
Whats your name? I can help you out.
Matthew Moore
I don't see why you need one outside of seraph/sanguine blade. Bard gear on the other hand, oh god.
Impossible for a new player to catch up because gear expectations are impossibly high + community is full of mercenaries who wouldn't stop to piss in your mouth if you were dying of thirst on the street
Aaron Martin
Its a whole fucking mess on its own, I gave up and just created a new account on a new server and for some reason its full of japs
Jaxon Bell
>also should i sub to retail ff11? I wouldn't bother. Honestly, every good part of FFXI has been improved on in XIV, which is thriving right now. Check out the /vg/ thread, let them know you're new and you'll be welcomed with open arms.
Gabriel Rodriguez
>good part of FFXI has been improved on in XIV Which parts are those? Last I looked XIV still tries to play itself off as a monthly-fee singleplayer game, with lockouts out the ass to prevent gearing more than one job fully within a period of relevancy, which works heavily against the "All jobs on one character" philosophy.
Benjamin Flores
Why would I play a game I didn't like 20 years ago when I hate everything that made me not like it even more than I did then?
Charles Cox
There is nothing good about having to literally grind for months to progress.
