Surely there must be some way to load unpurchased games in microsoft's inhouse emulator if you can use dev mode to download emulators and roms.

Emulation performance is a hard thing to pin down because with newer emu versions sometimes they become more demanding sometime it becomes better optimized and runs easier

Demon's Souls did not run very well on RPCS3 for me on either Deck or my PC, and it doesn't seem like a hardware issue. It just has things like audio not playing, black screens, texture flickering, etc. that make me generally uncomfortable playing the game like this.
