What are some good vr games you recommend Any Forums?

I have been thinking about getting a oculus quest 2, is that a good headset to get? It's made by facebook apparently which is a bad thing and I heard you need to make a facebook account in order to use it. But I heard that they got rid of the account thing, is that true or do you still need a fb account just to play some games? Also the quest 2 is a lot cheaper than other headsets from what I can see on the market I think, why is that? Does it have much poorer specs compared to other headsets? I keep hearing that the quest 2 is apparently the best headset on the market, why? The higher prices of the other headsets are making me think they have better specs but for some reason I heard the quest 2 is the best one.

>oculus quest 2
shitty screen

wait few months, new generation is on the horizon

Interesting? How big is this generation gap exactly in terms of hardware? Its weird because the first oculus quest was apparently released in 2019 and then quest 2 was released in 2020? How much more superior is the second quest compared to the first if there is only a year apart? Also quest 2 was only out for like 2 years and video game consoles usually take like 5-6 years for a new generation. There is apparently a new generation of headsets coming out??

>is that a good headset to get?
right now its the best bang for your buck
>facebook
yeah it sucks, inb4 the schizos who endlessly scream about it derail the thread.
>do you still need a fb account just to play some games
i think you do but check the quest r*ddit for actual information on bypasses
>I keep hearing that the quest 2 is apparently the best headset on the market, why?
good quality for low price, can do stand alone and pcvr
>making me think they have better specs
the reverb g2 definitely does, but there are plenty of downsides to buying one. this is all around the safer choice to make but is correct. if you're strapped just hang tight but if you have 300 to burn i highly recommend it.

sideload all of the ports
re4vr
pavlov
superhot
tetris effect
rez infinite
thumper
blade & sorcery
twd: saints and sinners

by the way, get one of these. if you use glasses you can find cheap 3d printed lens adapters too, less than half the price of the oculus recommended site.

vtol vr. everything else is shit

Don't get groomed user, be careful

not him but project cambria looks like a significant step forward in making higher quality lenses while making everything else lighter and smaller, there was a video touring their prototypes that was really promising

outer wilds vr. everything else is shit

Shit taste

Avoid faceberg VR headsets. They're not really future proof.
They're tied to a dystopian corporation that fell for the NFT meme (Something that has previously caused large companies to sell off entire franchises which is bad news for a niche product) and even before then they have failed to update their firmware on time and bricked all their headsets in circulation for several days. On top of that if you don't get a standalone headset you are tied to an ecosystem that not only relies on Windows but has already shown that they will lock features behind upgrading to the newest version.
The standalone headsets will have problems because you won't get decent resolution/framerate and they don't even use any shortcuts for it yet like eye tracking (no matter how dystopian that sounds it is still decent for headsets not made by data collection megacorporations) that would let them keep resolution highest in areas you are actually looking at.
If you hear a lot of news about a specific faceberg VR headset being the best one then it's likely due to marketing.

I'd suggest waiting to see if prices for PC components drop to appropriate levels for a decent VR rig and seeing if Steam or Vive release a new headset since they at least have some Linux support.

>Linux support
What for?

Quest 2 is beast headset right now cheap, good image quality and portability, I often use it to watch porn or rpchat when I take bath because I'm filthy coomer.

any good coomer games you would recommend?

Future proofing for when you want to escape Windows.
I've still got a Rift that I can only really use on a Windows virtual machine as opposed to just running it on Linux like practically every other game I own.
Additionally you're less likely to see all support suddenly drop on something that is at least partially maintained on Linux than you are with something run entirely by a corporation since there will be at least niche following working on making it work. Oculus have already demonstrated that they can brick every VR headset if they no longer maintain it, I'm not really sure when the next version of their firmware licensing shit is going to run out but I suppose I'll see when they fail to update it again.

>higher resolution than the index
>no screen door effect like the index
>shitty

The VR mods are some of the best games available for PCVR right now
Doom 3 VR
Deep Rock Galactic VR
All recent Resident Evil games
Half life VR
Alien Isolation
Outer Wilds might be the best one, both from a game standpoint and just how well the VR mod works

Do you have to buy a separate game to play alien isolation with vr? I already own alien isolation on steam, is there a standalone version of that game that only allows vr?

Project Wingman. You haven't felt alive until you're dodging missiles and maneuvering through a furball of planes to some kickass music.

It's just a single dll file you put into the game directory, couldn't be easier
keep in mind that it doesn't support motion controllers, but it's absolutely worth it if you can stomach gamepad controls

Can I pirate games for the quest 2? How bad is the DRM thing? What happens if I DNS block faceberg ranges?

You can easily pirate every single game on the Quest store
Pirating on the quest is one of those things that is easy, and no one has ever been punished for it yet, but meta definitively knows if you're playing pirated games
there is technically a "switch" they can turn on remotely that will prevent your quest from enabling developer mode ever again, essentially locking you out of ever playing third party software again
Hasn't happened yet, but it could
