There are pink lanterns all around Yharnam. Those denote where there's an NPC to talk to. Coincidentally, there's one right next to the first lantern you find in Central Yharnam. Find it and talk to the man in the window, he will give you some directions. In case for whatever reason you can't find him, then here's a quick rundown.
>You were asking about something called "paleblood" and came to Yharnam to find it.
>If there's anybody that knows about weird kinds of blood, it's the church.
>The church is across the valley.
>Find a way across the valley and get to the big ginormous cathedral you can see from Central Yharnam.
