2007 was the beginning of the end, no doubt

>everything between 2007 and 2011 left out
We did it 08bros!

Bioshock is absolutely not the decline of gaming, but it 2007 is pretty close. I don't remember when DOTA came out and obliterated the wc3 custom game environment, maybe 2005 or something. But that was the death of gaming, the industry has only spiraled into more and more shameless money-grubbing and addictive garbage since then.

The Internet being made for niggers was a mistake.

I'd take back every online moment I've ever had just to remove mobile, mmo, gacha, dlc, and day 1 updates (unfinished games).

It's actually Bioshock Infinite, which coincidentally came out in the same year as The Last of Us.
Those 2 games started the trend of having a grand, pseudointellectual story instead of good gameplay.

Honestly 2012

Some of this is a stretch, I don't think edgy 12 yr olds are actively watching Fox News and I doubt TBBT was so polarizing that it introduced and changed normalfags minds about "geek culture". The only games they played in that show were stuff like Halo, DnD, Mario, and Rockstar games. Every one already knew what these were, the rest of it was just typical sitcom tropes with WOW! SCIENCE! thrown over it.

That’s like saying that Germany was alright in WWII until they invented the V-2 rockets

No half life is to blame

When you had to pay for the horse armor in Oblivion.
RIP gaming since then

wait, BBG is that old?

tumblr wasnt immediately shit when it came out it got progressively worse as it went on but that didnt happen for atleast a few years
twitter again wasnt the ball of hatred that it is today when it debut
i dont believe the big bang theory really popularized "geek culture" like said
i do agree on the facebook one since it was myspace but soulless and got progressively more soulless as time went on
i dont believe 2007 was the start of the internet being shit a lot of those early sites really werent that bad at first unlike how they are now especially twitter
the internet went to shit when google started to play its hand turning everything political injecting ads everywhere and tracking everyone practically unifying all these sites making them what we know them as now
and as for the iphone apple has been ruining technology since their start this was just one thing in a long line of shitty hardware

When walking simulator with barbone gameplay and a movie attached to hit got popular so tlou.

Amazingly wrong. How old are you?

It's hard to pin points a specific website. It's the entire new design of the internet went to this web 2.0 bullshit. I know it's become a meme but the female and overall normalfag presence was actually limited before that, and it was a causal factor. In 2005 everyone had the internet in first world countries but there were still plenty of normal people that didn't check it daily.

Let me guess, 19?

Even worse, 33

2010
World of Warcraft: Cataclysm.

it turend to shit after SJW's became a thing after Gamergate and then they got control over entertainment industry after Trump won

The decline was way earlier in the early 00s with the rise of dudebro gamer culture brown and bloom shooters.

2007 was actually the last good year before the 2008 recession, and iPhones and Facebook becoming big. While it's true the iPhone came out in 2007, it only started becoming something people used in 2008 when 3G and the app store came out and the recession made people turn to escapism. 2007 was the last good year. Also Bioshock and Mario Galaxy are great games.

more like what year did everything start to decline

Mass effect needed to be a choice. Sex in games never should have been a mainstream selling point. The second one is where the "everyone's gender/sexuality/fetish needs to be represented" ball really got momentum.
