You're supposed to only play co-op but have Mugman die right away. That way it's still a 1 on 1 fight but the boss' stats get a massive boost. Also, only use controllers with input delay

You're supposed to play co-op mode as one person while keeping both characters alive but only shoot with one character. It should go without saying that you must also get zero deaths and perfect score S rank everything. This is the intended way to play and only way to beat the game.
