I have a theory that people who make threads like this got filtered by the game in some way. And it becomes a point of personal pride to relentlessly post for weeks, sometimes months about how it's not them, it's just the game that is really bad and everyone needs to understand it.

It hasn't been good for at least 2 console generations spanning 2 decades with 13 and 15. That's a dire situation for the franchise to put itself into and one not easy to repair.

I played the older ones a few years ago, I get it. The music is nice, the gameplay is simple, usually the story is simple to follow too. It seems like exactly the perfect game to have a on handheld, better as a kid. I think if you go into it expecting to have your mind blown away by it or whatever, you'll come out disappointed.

And especially recently, they went all out on the MMO which is pretty popular, but any other game in the series doesn't seem to even get much attention anymore.
