This guy must love Grand Theft Auto!

>Cannot sell alcohol to children, alcohol industry agrees
>Cannot sell tobacco to children, tobacco industry agrees
>Cannot sell pornographic materials to children, industry agrees
>Cannot sell/promote R-rated movies to children, industry agrees
>Cannot sell/promote music with adult themes to children, industry agrees
>Video game industry vehemently fought for YEARS against a guy who just wanted video games to be held to the same standard
And now R* makes billions every year from kids buying Shark Cards. Thompson never wanted to ban these games for adults, he just didn't want kids exposed to this stuff/exploited. But of course the gaming industry had to pretend that milking money from the weak was a "First Amendment right."

Honestly, Jack Thompson would have thrived in today's social media. All the people that made fun of him like Derek Yu wouldn't ever make shit like "I'm O.K" these days, the backlash would be so big.

Yeah hell no, this game would cancel everyone that's involved in this day and age.

He was right for the wrong reasons. Video games didn't turn everyone into violent psychopaths, but they did turn everyone into weak, mentally ill faggots.

Why shouldn't the original release of San Andreas with Hot Coffee intact have been rated AO? The only reason was R* wanted the game to be rated M, so it could be in stores. He pointed this out and for some reason R* was the victim?

To think it was John Grisham who encouraged an acquaintance to sue over a Natural Born Killers copycat crime.
The people who say video games don't influence violence are likely the same who say The Turner Diaries has influenced terrorist attacks and memes radicalize people.

All of those things are true, if you show people violence, especially the young, it desensitizes them. Vidya industry has been lying for decades about it because loads of money selling to kids.

Because being rendered inaccessible is, for all intents and purposes, equivalent to removed. The film industry has danced around age restriction for years, and games can't cut anything, at all, to fit into a desired age bracket? And, the logical conclusion, should mods affect age rating on a game?

So don't make a fucking interactive sex scene in your video game and more importantly, don't hide it from the ESRB? Part of the problem was that Rockstar lied to the ESRB about it. It's an M-rated game without Hot Coffee.

What is your point exactly?
We have ESRB and the film maturity rating system.
Children are already prohibited from accessing adult content through these means.
It is up to retailers and parents to enforce these codes.
It's been this way for decades. Why are we still having this conversation?
Who is it directed at, exactly?

Imagine if liquor stores and tobacco stores were basically encouraged to be scofflaws and sell alcohol and cigarettes to kids by alcohol and tobacco companies. The anger was because Rockstar knew what was going on and actually encouraged it.

Don't blame video games, parent your god damn children instead of crying about mommy government doing your job for you. Don't buy them violent games, don't let them download violent games.

Oh Christ, Hot Coffee is what has your panties in a wad?
How many kids do you think Hot Coffee negatively affected?
Be honest. Give your best guess. I want to see how retarded you are.

Who hides it from the ESRB? There are no retail disc that has Hot Coffee available, none, zero. "Dummied out" contents has been a thing since the Atari 2600. You want Hot Coffee? Mod it. Should mods affect age rating?

drugs != media
Use a better analogy. It is far easier for kids to sneak cigs and alcohol around their parents, and it has far greater health concerns.
Parents need to take an active role in what kind of media their child is consuming. It's that simple.
The same shit is happening right now. We can't seem to ban or even fucking regulate TikTok, but we have millions of kids watching and doing all kinds of fucked up shit on that app.

I'm still upset I was tricked. We saw how hard the industry protected itself when conservatives tried to change it, so I just assumed they would do the same with liberal whackos.

They didn't.

Did Bethesda "hide" porn mods from the ESRB? Lol are you retarded?

That was always the plan.
Liberal wackos actually hid their insanity back then and always intended for what we have now. They only needed to take their time and subvert us slowly.
