Rise is the best MH game since 4U and might be better than it.
The birds encourage you to still explore while the monster being on the map gives you choice to explore or by-line to fight. Wire bug opens up a lot of options for the player and resource management with only 2-3 points is very easy to do. Having both offensive and defensive options is fantastic. Especially since so many have hidden bonuses for using them to parry attacks and what not. Multiplayer is the easiest it's even been to get working. Connecting to friends and getting into hunts is seemless and fast.

Lack of new weapons sticks, lack of monsters also sucks, and poogie is better than cohoot. But those are my only real complaints. Rise, especially with sunbreak, is a good direction for the series.

MH peaked with world, it's all downhill from here boys...

I have not disliked a single MH game I've played. There's aspects of each that I like and dislike, but they're all head and shoulders above most games for me.

Is it wrong to prefer ranged weapons in this game? Gotta love the bowguns, the heavy bowguns, the gunlance, and pretty much anything that lets me shoot these assholes into little pieces. Never touched the series before, but after playing Lost Planet, I felt an itch to fight giant beasts.

Most G rank games I honestly never notice what new moves monsters get, but they seem way more drastic this time around. Probably helps I switched to a new weapon so I'm getting my shit pushed in.
