Do you keep a personal GotY list? Or any other kind of autistic lists for video games?

I like thinking about my own personal favorite games but I hate thinking about which games are objectively the "best"

It's kinda wild to me that people who grew up with Nintendo don't think for a moment that their tastes as a 5 year old might have been ill-informed.

I remain unbiased, for eg I do not really like doom and did not rate quake a very good game but I know how influential and groundbreaking they are for vidya
While Half life is a great game it is nowhere near as good or influential as OoT and 98 was probably the best year for vidya ever.
All half life ever really did was story telling within the environment, everything else was already pretty standard gameplay mechanics for the time. Though of course most FPS games then were shit and HL is top quality.

Based. I used to keep a top 100 list, but I always shifted the order too often. I switched to keeping a Top 5 by Year list, and it's much more consistent and easier to handle.

Nintendos quality and innovation is decades old track record, there is a reason these games are so highly rated it is because they are top quality in the entire industry and in the case of OoT a "game changer" in the industry.

It's a personal list, sperg. I always found OoT mediocre, even as a 10 year old back in 1999. As far as 1998 games go, I had way more fun with Half-Life, Metal Gear Solid, Unreal, Fallout 2, and Resident Evil 2 than I did with Ocarina.
