Whenever I replay the original, the Castle level design always baffle me.
So eventually you enter the "reception hall" of the castle. The way forward is blocked by a relief that is missing some pieces. So you take a "detour" that is basically half the castle level because you have no other choice. On the "detour" you eventually collect all the missing relief pieces. Once you do, you immediately gain access to a train cart that leads you right back to the relief. You solve the relief puzzle, and what is behind it? Why it's a train cart that leads you right back to where you took the first train cart back to the relief puzzle, only the next room over.

You guys always say this, like the 35-40+ crowd that grew up with these games and are functioning adults are the ones screeching. The adults I know that play remakes just play them and say “sure its different but I still liked it.” I think its the demographic that only played these games in rereleases and emulation that are kicking up the fuss, which is between 20-30 I’d say. God knows how many teens.

Like 90% of the charm of this game is the random shit that the enemy a.i. does like randomly trying to dodge you, hiding behind walls, suiciding with dynamite and killing each other with friendly fire. Also important is their mexican (in spain) voice lines said in the perfect mix of serious and cheesy.
I guarantee we will lose most of the charm and get bland serious mode enemies that might as well just be worse dead space enemies.
There's also the more obvious stuff like the cheesy script will be sanitised, goofy stuff like the boulders, castle robot, ashley pervert situations and constant damsel rescue, suplex animation will all be "fixed". Even just the shop merchant they will completely miss why people like him in the original.

It won't look as good as it would if Capcom themselves had designed it. Most of the RE remake costumes give everyone balloon tits that look fake or make their skin texture all shiny and weird.
