Not the user you replied to, but I'm also married with my own home, and we have three cats. They all are very affectionate and have tons of individual quirks, behaviors, and preferences, no less than the dogs I've owned over the years. I really don't get why people claim cats don't have personality.

They do have personality. The weird quirks are part of the joy. Dogs have quirks I'm sure but most of it is literally just the slobbering. I loved it as a kid. As an adult with clothes I'd actually like to keep nice I'm not into it.
