Serious question, why has no one ever made a porn game? Not some stupid pop up thing on porn sites, or a shitty flash game you played on new grounds in 2002, but a real game. Something with a real budget and great gameplay and graphics for the PC and consoles? Is it because the rating system and no one wants to make an AO rated game?

But the fact that people dont even know them shows you why these kinds of games were never really made, there was no money because it's a tremendous uphill battle to advertise and sell them, especially with all the prudes in the US

Well there's that. And also the fact that a porn game is kind of self-defeating. Unless it's like a mobile game that's intended to be played in small chunks or you just plan on edging for an hour the premise of a porn game seems to be either a really shitty visual novel where you try to impress an NPC enough to let her fuck you or really shitty thrusting simulator where you're doing repetitive motions over and over again to reach a fake orgasm that might not match with yours. All in all it's just not worth it. You're talking about putting together an extremely expensive project that will only be enjoyed by an extremely niche group. That's just terrible math

Not enough people would buy it to offset any significant budget. Straight up. Videogames are for kids, so massive chunk of marketshare lost. Porn is for adults, but very few of them are interested in paying full retail price for essentially cartoon porn when they can Google "BIG BOOBA" for free. The appeal is extremely limited.

I don't think that's the same thing. If you make a lewd edit of Overwatch then you still have a game, it's just that the horniness is an extension of the actual game. For porn games the horniness is the game and the problem with that is that once the horniness is gone there's no more reason to play. You're not going to be beating off for 2 hours while also focusing on the gameplay. And unless you have some sort of fleshlight attachment, any porn game must be simple enough for you to be able to jerk it while also playing at the same time. And suddenly you realize why there can't be any sort of death to those games.
