>Takes 4 whole years to make for a handful of bosses
I don't think it should take that long to draw up this much bosses? Unless they were working on a sequel for Cuphead?
Takes 4 whole years to make for a handful of bosses
Just squeezing out as much funding as they could for as little effort as possible
i dont think you have an idea how much work it takes to animate traditionally
I was watching moonmoon too
>Rubberhose takes years to make
Bullshit
Something about the new bosses and levels feel off from the base game, I just can't put my finger on it
>INB4 the tranny animators for the cal arts Cuphead show assisted with the animations for the DLC
they hired a guy to film the diorama of the desert boss, you either pay a big amount of the proffesional setup of pay a fucker to make a diorama on his cramped toronto living room
for the other levels such as the port they had a traditional animator scan each drawing in their own home as well
>verification not required
>I don't think it should take that long to draw up this much bosses?
what you think is irrelevant, though?
I really hope it's not user, I really do
In that whole 4 years, what 2D platformer has surpassed Cuphead?
That's what I thought, OP
>I don't think it should take that long to draw up this much bosses?
And what experience with animation and game design are you basing this opinion off of?
cuphead is not really a platforming game first. it's a boss rush game.
it is the best of its class in recent times if only because there's no competition. but even if there was, it would be a hard sell.
They said fuck crunch so they probably worked 4h a day
doubt
Hollow Knight? Idk.
Cuphead is a brand now. The devs are juggling the Netflix show, brand deals and this DLC. Previously, they were only focused on the game
Hopefully they start their own studio and hire more people.
>or get some wage slaves that now want the cuphead exposure
I'm still shocked no one has tried to compete with it. The only close competition it had was Sonic Mania due to them being coming out a few months apart from each other.
Hollow Knight came out before Cuphead.
The original game took forever to make as well. I first saw footage of it in 2012(?). For this DLC, they probably took a slower pace.
old school animation is a dying art form because everyone draws lazy globo homo shit nowadays
>hollow kek
got beaten out by cuphead in the year both came out, lmao
They should just use GoAnimate.
traditional animation is a thankless job
>GoAnimate
not familiar with that, is it anything like toonboom?
Do you just go round posting "globohomo" in every thread on the board?
sonic mania isn't the same type of game as cuphead. there's few games post 21st century like cuphead.
alien soldier is another example of a game within the boss rush genre. ancient game.
I still haven't beaten Cuphead because of the robot.
idunno do you go complain about everyone using the correct term?
>draws
lol old man here thinks people still waste their time like that, the less drawings the better chud
What retard thinks Cuphead is platforming?
30XX
Animator user here, you are a braindead gorilla retard with no clue how this shit works.
>Concept work
>Storyboarding
>initial draft with first passes and revisions
>second draft with revisions and fine-tuning
>potentially more drafts along the way for checks and honing the orocess to be buttery-fucking smooth
>final steps of QA and proofwatching, potentially repeat meme arrows #3-5 if things aren't ironed out well enough
>all this multiple times over for damn near every element in the DLC
Get the fuck out with that underageb&-tier assumption that you can even comprehend the level of time and work this shit takes (let alone that it's just "drawing" as your worthless-ass post puts it) before you get that empty noise pipe you call a head smashed into a curb like a nignog like you deserves.
based
whats your salary anim fren
lmao you're so mad. I used to draw flipbook animations when I was 5. It isn't hard, bro.
then you make the DLC and do it faster, retard
>all this multiple times over for damn near every element in the DLC
so you'd say the process for adds summoned by the bosses are as intensive as you're describing? the pepper shakers in saltbaker's second phase for example. the total amount of animation needed to be done there is fairly little. same for the gold bars and coins and so on that come out of esther's bags in phase 2.
Ok, give me money then. I have to work for a living and I don't have time for pointless hobbies like drawing any more.
